Sonal Dave is a highly accomplished finance and operations executive with close to four decades of cross-sectoral experience spanning banking, investment services, logistics, and consulting. Her distinguished 27-year career at HSBC India saw her rise through key leadership roles, including Managing Director & COO of HSBC Securities & Capital Markets and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis for HSBC Bank India. In these roles, she led critical initiatives in strategic finance, business integration, regulatory compliance, and operational transformation. She was instrumental in the integration of IL&FS Investsmart and in launching HSBC’s Asset Management business in India, contributing significantly to HSBC India’s strong profitability and its top-tier global ranking.
As a member of the India Executive Committee and several regional forums, Sonal influenced enterprise-level decisions and drove cost optimization, process re-engineering, and financial governance. She also championed inclusive leadership as Chair of HSBC India’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and led the Internal Complaints Committee under the POSH Act for over a decade.
Currently, Sonal serves as an Independent Director and Audit Committee Chair at Fedbank Financial Services Ltd (a Federal Bank subsidiary) and as Director at Anibha Arts Foundation. Her prior roles at the Maersk Group included setting up and heading finance and operations across India and Nepal. She began her professional journey with Price Waterhouse in consulting and American President Lines in finance and HR, gaining broad foundational experience.
A Chartered Accountant and commerce graduate from HR College, Mumbai University, Sonal is also a Certified Transformational Coach and has completed the Masterclass for Women Non-Executive Directors by Meraki Consulting in Hong Kong. She brings to every role a rare blend of strategic insight, operational excellence, and governance maturity, and remains deeply committed to mentoring talent and building inclusive, purpose-driven organizations.
